Q: Why is this considered a SECURE site?

A Color : It is SECURE because it allows some web browsers to encrypt information so you can safely send it over the internet. Encryption is a mathematical process that turns meaningful words and numbers into a coded unrecognizable message string. The mathematical process called an algorithm, is like a lock that has BILLIONS of possible combinations, but only one key. This prevents any unauthorized viewing or use as it passes over the internet. It can only be translated or decoded into meaningful information once it has reached it's authorized destination. This type of encryption is used today by many major banks to secure their on-line banking transactions.

Q: Are all web browsers capable of encrypting information to make a SECURE transaction?

A: NO. Not all browsers have this capability. You may use the following web browsers to safely order by credit card on this site:

Netscape Communicator or Navigator 1.1x or later
Microsoft Internet Explorer 3.01 or later
America Online (AOL) 3.0
Web TV

Q: If I am using one of the browsers listed above, is there any way to be sure that my transaction is going to be SECURE?

A: YES. During "Checkout", select "Order by Credit Card Online (REALTIME)" in the secure order form list.

After doing so, you MAY get a message that says something like:

"You have requested a secure document. The document and any information you send back are encrypted for privacy while in transit."

By continuing on, you arrive at the secure payment form. At this point your browser gives you some clues that it is in a "Security" mode. The table below shows the security symbols by browser type. Look for one of the symbols in the lower corner of your browser. If you see the secure symbol, you may type in and send your credit card information with complete confidence.

On WebTV, you need to press the "INFO" button on the keyboard (select the "Options" button and then select "INFO" on the small remote). If a "Security Details" button is displayed, the page is secure. Select this button for more information.

Q: I don't have one of the browsers listed above. Can I still order by credit card?

A: The browsers listed above are the ones we recommend. You CAN use another browser, however you MAY be taking some unnecessary risk. Be sure you know the SECURITY or ENCRYPTION capabilities if you decide to use a different browser. You might consider downloading and installing one of the recommended browsers by ckicking one iof the icons below. We also provide a way to pay with a check by mail order, or you may FAX us your credit card information. All these options are available when you decide to "checkout"
and order the contents of your shopping cart.
